Rose Stone Inn is testimony to the enduring qualities of small town mainstreet. Built as a luxury hotel/B&B in an historic bank building, the downtown Inn is a short walk from fine dining, theater, botanical gardens, and historic sites. When the owners of one of Oklahoma's most popular Bed and Breakfasts decided to create an intimate hotel, they built upon this quiet hometown charm. Guests can still gather in the great room for serious football or frivolous anecdotes. They can rock the baby with a bedtime story in their room or just rock themselves and savor the day. Downtown Ponca City is one of those places where lovers can still evening window shop and stroll home under the stars. Yet this tranquil haven is where many of Ponca City's business travelers both unwind and reload. Data port telephones, full size desks, fax and copier services, make the Rose Stone Inn the command center of choice in Ponca City. And when the work is done, guests unwind with a thorough workout in the exercise room, or a movie from the film library and an evening snack. Double-insulated walls, individual climate control thermostats and a bed that all-but-guarantees a good night's sleep, helps business folks be at a peak performance for the next day's session. A full continental breakfast greets guests each morning. Derricks Restaurant (appointment dining only) famed for their Scandinavian Smorgasbord also serves homestyle cooking, cater banquets, weddings and picnics. Other fine dining is found in the downtown area. An Inn named after the State Rock couldn't avoid Oklahoma's booming history. Each suite and room has a theme of famous people, places, and things in the Oklahoma past. It is entirely fitting. The Inn nestles into the former home of Ponca City Building and Loan, one of the first S&L west of the Mississippi. The charm of marble-clad walls and walnut paneling were carefully preserved. An airport limousine service is worthy of prom night. The Ponca Theater, a multimillion-dollar restoration of a vaudeville house, now hosting special attractions, is just around the corner. Pioneer Woman Statue and Museum, L.A. Cann Botanical Gardens, Marland Mansion, and Centenniel Plaza are practically within walking distance. Staff that remembers names and needs, guest book registries, genuine smiles, and sincere hospitality, are still the way Rose Stone Inn does things. The concierge function is taken very seriously. The innkeepers are friends immediately, like the postmaster you knew as a child. That's what "home," is all about. That's what an Inn was meant to be!
